Eyeless is proud to announce the release of Gary Goodman + Nick Hudson's 'January'. This features a studio recording of 'January' at 17 minutes long and a live version at Bombanes Cafe in George St. Brighton. Although one is live and the other studio, both document real time the synergy between the two performers that has been built up over 2 years of playing together.
Gary has exhibited everywhere from the National Portrait gallery, to Shawn Vinson USA to Charleston Farmhouse Sussex, he teaches at Brighton University amongst others and has started the Everybody's Got To Be Somewhere performance events and Desperate For Love poetry events.
He came to my attention when I first met him in legendary records shop Edgeworld. I knew somewhat sub-atomically that I would like to work with him so I invited him to play my experimental film and music night in Brighton. Gary's performances join the dots between self-effacing doom and wicked humour but always land on the bright side..somehow in love with the vortex of life. Nick Hudson has delivered at least 3 mind altering album sets in the past 4 years that expand through hitherto untouched realms of epic drift, song form, sonic art and reality shift. His latest set, a movie and album conjoining 'Letters To The Dead' featured "guest appearances from members of Kayo Dot / maudlin of the Well, Asva and Baliset, Ekca Liena, Stuart Warwick and a host of ingenious Brighton musicians" and is available on Antihtetic Records. Nick Hudson is extremely talented and utterly fearless. Basically a genius.
